QUALITY ASSURANCE
At SMI quality assurance is tailored to the specific needs of the customer and the product. Quality control points, attributes, and standards are documented and filed in our state-of- art inspection lab. Using our digital inspection equipment, your key SPC dimensions are checked and plotted against mutually agreed upon quality standards. This assures that your specifications are met and that we will never exceed the statistically established bounds that may cause problems in your assembles. All new products receive first article inspection to assure that the tooling is capable of quality production. SMI will also provide capability studies of required by the customer.
A receiving inspection and report are completed for all incoming raw materials and purchased component, material certifications from our suppliers are required for all resins. A batch number system is also used for all production runs to maintain lot traceability for the raw material.
The quality staff includes quality inspectors on all shifts, a final auditor and a Quality Assurance Coordinator to insure product conformance.

SUNCOAST MOLDERS, INC. facilities have been designed to place at our customer's disposal an integrated system of people and equipment capable of molding high quality, functional parts for engineering resins. Each piece of equipment and each person is here to help perform a portion of the process of efficiently transforming polymer pellets into highly reliable precision components. It is this system - from resin storage and material preparation, through molding and in process inspection then on to final inspection - in which we take pride, rather than in individual machines.
INJECTION MOLDING MACHINES
MODERN HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL PRESSES ranging from 15 ton to 300 ton. Shot sizes that range from 1 oz. to 40 oz.,with additional capacity planned. MOLDING MACHINE SUPPORT EQUIPMENT includes drying ovens, hopper loaders,hopper dryers, grinders, mold temperature controllers, conveyers,conveyer separators, extractors, and process control units.
ENGINEERING includes a complete department for mold design,as well as assistance in part design and material selection.
MOLD MAKING AND MAINTENANCE is possible in SMIs own in-house tool room, giving us the ability to immediately perform the maintenance and repair necessary to support your production requirements.
THERMOSET/COMPRESSION/TRANSFER PRESSES ranging from 75 tons to 350 tons with additional capacity planned.
